Minority French-speaking communities

Over the past four years, we’ve been busy producing resources to help minority French-speaking communities in Canada. In partnership with UTAPI consultants, we have developed authentic First Nations resources. These resources serve to enrich the various topics under indigenization to give learners a better understanding of indigenous perspectives from a historical, cultural and linguistic point of view, in this era of reconciliation.

Here are the modules and videos currently being published:

  • The production of 3 educational videos with subtitles by Université Sainte-Anne;
  • A template module for First Nations material;
  • 4 modules based on the First Nations template (NCLC1-2, 3-4, 5-6 and 7-8);
  • The production of 4 educational videos supporting the activities of the First Nations modules;
  • An orientation video on how to use the template module.

These resources will be available on Avenue.ca and Tutela.ca once the digitization is complete.

This webinar:

  • reviews the definition of skill-building activities and skill-using tasks;
  • explores the difference between skill-using and assessment tasks;
  • provides participants with the opportunity to discuss the role of skill-using tasks in the teaching/learning process within a PBLA classroom.

The session will be recorded and made available under the CCLB Webinar Recordings Collection.

If you missed it, you can still view our March 6th, 2025 webinar on Interculturalism vs. Multiculturalism. This webinar shed light on the differences and implications of these two approaches in the educational and social context. The facilitators, Myriane Ouellette and Lisa Breau, are professionals in the field.
