Start date: April 1, 2020
End date: March 31, 2025
Funded by: Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC)
This project will provide professional development, resources, and training tools to support the use of l’Evaluation basée sur le portfolio (ELBP) in CLIC classrooms. The project’s activities will clarify processes and support the use of ELBP.
CCLB will partner with the developers of the National Curriculum Guidelines, Learning Management System, Tutela, and collaborate with service providers nationally. The project will also include a stronger ELBP presence at conferences to support high-quality settlement programming.
While many programs and teachers have successfully implemented ELBP and find that it helps them offer accountable, learner-centred, and task-based programming, some teachers are frustrated and find ELBP difficult and time-consuming to implement. This project will help them by providing ready-to-use ELBP materials as well as more training on how to use them. This project is a cohesive effort to include all stakeholders in the next steps to continue their use of ELBP in CLIC classrooms.
Main Outcomes:
- French-speaking clients receive settlement services that address their settlement needs
- Provision of settlement services is consistent, innovative and coordinated.
