Development of PBLA

Portfolio-Based Language Assessment (PBLA) is modelled after a teaching and assessment approach that has been successfully used in language instruction in Manitoba for a number of years — Collaborative Language Portfolio Assessment (CLPA).

PBLA has been further strengthened by incorporating insights gathered in a formal field test of the model in Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada (LINC) programs and provincial ESL programs.
