Support and Promotion of new Online Professional Development Resources Project Description In 2005-2006 CIC funded the development of a prototype online professional development module. In 2006-2007 the Government of Ontario funded the development of additional online professional development resources available in a dedicated area of the www.language.ca website at http://elearning.language.ca. This expanded online professional development resources was piloted in March 2007. The pilot feedback provided by ESL teachers, TESL trainers and the instructional designer, informed the development of this proposed project activity, in order to address their recommendations for next steps. In 2007-2008, CCLB further develops on-line resources and off-line versions of existing professional development modules to accommodate the range, experience and competencies of teachers. CCLB will: Supplement existing PD and CLB content on the CCLB elearning web site with facilitated discussion and additional resources Prepare off-line resources Conduct outreach to connect practitioners with the PD
Through the new online professional CCLB is committed to: · supporting all LINC and other ESL practitioners in urban and rural areas. · providing information for those not knowledgeable about CLB. · supporting practitioners in using CLB through practice tools and exemplars. · reinforcing knowledge for those who need an academic framework as part of a TESL training course for example.
