New Writing Test Forms for the Workplace Language Assessment (WLA) Tool

Project Description

The CCLB is developing two additional test forms for the WLA writing assessment with funding from the Government of Alberta. The WLA is an assessment tool that was developed to assess the proficiencies of clients seeking entry into workplace-related training opportunities such as bridge to employment.

Development of the WLA focused on professional groups such as engineers, accountants and IT professionals. Additional writing test forms will broaden the relevance of the WLA to other professional groups. As well, the new test forms will contribute to greater test security and offer assessors more flexible assessment opportunities.

The additional writing test forms will be available for distribution to licensed WLA assessment centers in the fall of 2007.
