Project Description

The CCLB will extensively revise and expand web pages for language learners at www.language.ca. This area of the website currently provides information and resources about the Canadian Language Benchmarks for newcomers to Canada.  Plans are underway to organize this area of the website to better provide information about the Canadian Language Benchmarks for newcomers at two levels:

• basic level of information for learners with limited language proficiency, prepared at CLB 3 to 4 level of reading proficiency
• intermediate level of information for learners with higher language proficiency, prepared at CLB 6 – 7 level of reading proficiency

The learner web pages will include:

• information about the Canadian Language Benchmark levels necessary for specific goals related to living, working and studying in Canada
• authentic samples of reading, writing, speaking and listening at representative CLB levels
• new downloadable resources learners and practitioners providing an introduction to the CLB
